Good logs are becoming increasingly rare. Works well and finishes well but is rarely stained due to its natural beauty. One of the most beautiful fancy woods in the world. Used by cabinet makers and historically for manufacturing of gun stocks. The wood is not corrodible when in contact with iron. The Romans and Greeks believed that the kernels of the Walnut tree could be used to treat headaches due to their distinctive brain shape.
